Helena Christensen has once again transformed her look from a provocative pirate queen for Agent Provocateur to an almost angelic angel, to become the face of Pilgrim jewellery…
First, she posed as a provocative pirate queen for Agent Provocateur in a red lace basque, thong and stockings accessorised with over-the-knee boots and a lusty grin.
Now, it looks as if all the buried treasure belonging to this busty buccaneer has ended up around her neck.
The popular Danish supermodel, Helena Christensen, has swapped Pirate for Pilgrim to become the face of one of her favourite brands of jewellery.
She has joined forces with two of Denmark’s most eclectic jewellery designers, Annemette Markvad and Thomas Adamsen of Pilgrim, to co-design a new range of necklace, earrings, rings and bracelets.
Markvad and Adamsen were ‘flower-children ‘ when they started Pilgrim twenty years ago whilst they were backpacking around the hippie trails of the East. They collected jewellery from all over India, China, Thailand and Bali which they then sold at rock festivals around Denmark when they returned home.
The business gradually developed into a global project and today is sold in more than 5,000 stores around the world. But Pilgrim has not forgotten its hippie ideals. Each piece of jewellery is individually handmade and the company is dedicated to a socially responsible corporate ethic. Pilgrim supports Doctors Without Borders, the independent, humanitarian medical aid agency committed to international emergency zones, raising money through the sale of special items of jewellery in its main collections.
The new collection, co-designed by Helena Christensen is, typically, ethnically-inspired and feminine, in both delicate orchid-pastels and strong, spicy colours, priced between £10 and £100.
