Well, what a week we’ve had. We were putting the final touches to our Pilgrim secret sale (if you’re on our mailing list you already know that we have a collections with 60% for you this Monday!) and disaster struck – we had a complete system failure with a hard disk developing horrendous faults that just couldn’t be fixed. Fortunately we back up often (although it’s never often enough is it? It’s never the bit that you were working on just then that you REALLY need?) and we managed to get other data off our computer so although we’re two days behind where we thought we would be, we should still be on target for Monday.
When you have to move to a new computer, even though you have your data, its all the little bits that take ages to sort out – all your internet favourites, your outlook contacts and diary, your shortcut keys, – all the information, tips etc that you’ve acquired over the life of your computer. The things that made your computer work how you wanted it to, that made your life easier.
If only there was a way to say ‘make this computer like that computer’. This week would have been so much less stressful!
